Milwaukee, Wis., Oct. 9, 2018—At Escuela Vieau School on Wednesday, October 10, and at Rogers Street Academy on Thursday, October 11, Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) will host Family Game Night events to introduce MIND Research Institute’s newest product, MathMINDs Games. These storybook board games combine math, history and literacy in a highly connected experience for educators, students and their families.

The development of the first game suite, South of the Sahara, is funded by industrial automation and information company, Rockwell Automation. MathMINDs Games: South of the Sahara includes the games Achi, Gulugufe and Fanorona which are based on gameplay and events from Ghana, Mozambique and Madagascar. The games will be available for MPS students and their families to experience firsthand at the Family Game Nights.

“Rockwell Automation is committed to helping to inspire the next generation of innovators through our commitment and support of STEM programming,” said Blake Moret, Chairman and CEO, Rockwell Automation. “Programs like MathMINDs help our company focus our philanthropic support, especially in the neighborhoods surrounding our Milwaukee headquarters.”

The Family Game Nights will be an opportunity for the public to experience MathMINDs Games for the first time, and for Rockwell Automation and MIND leadership to celebrate the launch of the product. The events will include dinner for all attendees, South of the Sahara themed treats, a surprise appearance by JiJi®, the ST Math® penguin, and attendance by leadership from Pitney Bowes Foundation, STEMconnector, PBS, Girl Scouts of America, U.S. Trust and others.
