Philadelphia, Penn., Mar 25, 2015 WHAT: Students, teachers and community leaders will gather to celebrate a grant from Hyundai Motor America to continue MIND Research Institute’s proven ST Math® program at 19 Philadelphia schools. Guests will visit a classroom where ST Math is being used to see the program first-hand in a blended learning environment. The students will be surprised with a visit from the life-size JiJi, the animated penguin featured in the ST Math games.
Hyundai Motor America’s grant provides the unique visually-based ST Math software program to 6,000 students, training for 315 teachers, and year-round educational support to 19 campuses in the School District of Philadelphia this school year. The grant is part of the Hyundai ST Math Initiative, which aims to improve young students’ math skills and propel them toward high school graduation and college success, especially in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. Research shows that early math skills are the greatest predictor of later academic success and high school graduation – a primary focus of Hyundai Motor America’s charitable investments.
