Math Territories

Math T
PS 174 William Sidney Mount

Game description: Overall this game is very entertaining, but it is also an educational way to teach kids about math. There are  a total of four kingdoms. To win the game you need to get all your pieces to the big circle on the other side of the board, diagonal from your kingdom. Whether you are in Addition Towers, Subtraction City, Multiplication Mountains, or Division Castle, the fun is everywhere. This game is for all ages.

  • This game is for up to 4 players.
  • You will need a dice, paper and pencil for calculations, and a timer set for 15 seconds.
  • To set up the board, you need to unfold it and place the playing pieces on their specific places.
  • The red pieces and multiplication pieces go in the small red circle.
  • The yellow pieces and subtraction pieces go in the small yellow circle.
  • The blue pieces and division pieces go in the small blue circle.
  • And the green pieces and addition pieces go in the small green small circle. There are also tiles that have a free pass, they say “Not a tile”.
  • Decide who goes first, and roll the dice to see how many steps you move. Move that number of steps.
  • If you land on a color tile, take a card, the color of which you land on and answer the math question.
  • If you answer the question correctly, you stay on the spot. If you don’t, you have to move back 2 steps.
  • Each color tile represents a different type of question. Green is addition, Red is multiplication, yellow is subtraction, blue is division, orange is exponents and radical signs (those are the most challenging).
  • You keep playing until someone gets diagonally across from the kingdom you started from.
