Team Match Up
PS 174 William Sidney Mount
Game description: Match Up, combines both strategy and math to improve your brain for the better. The objective of the game is to get rid of all the tiles on your rack, and have the most matches. This is a multi-grade level game for 3rd, 4th & 5th graders.
- Place ten tiles on your rack.
- You may not look at them beforehand, nor can you show them to other players.
- Decide the order in which the players move. If you cannot put out a match, draw a card.
- The cards, which are placed down and shuffled in a pile, contain math questions related to multiplication and division.
- You have to answer the question correctly in order to get a tile in the draw pile. There are 82 tiles in our game, including the two Crowns.
- The tiles consist of the numbers one to ten, in pink, orange, yellow, and blue colors.
- There are multiple ways to match up your tiles.
- A set is when you have three or more tiles on your rack that are the same number, but not the same color. You can’t have more than one tile of the same color in a set.
- Another way to make a match is to use a group. A group is when you put out three or more tiles that are the same color and are consecutive.
- The Crowns serve as wild cards. They may substitute as any tile in Match Up.
- The first player to empty out their rack wins.
