Connecting Innovation & Education for Personalized Learning

The Math Fair is right around the corner, and we can’t wait to share the excitement of math with Chicago families! This is our second annual Math Fair, but the first time we’re taking our exhibits, games, and performances (and JiJi!) on the road.

Our friends and partners in Chicago have helped make the trip possible. One of these friends is LEAP Innovations. this year’s Math Fair co-host. LEAP Innovations is the hub of next-generation of learning in Chicago, connecting innovation and education to help all students reach their potential. They work with educators to help them implement the most promising new teaching and learning tools and strategies, and then scale what works across the country.

This year, LEAP is making math a key priority of their work. Starting this fall, they’re reaching more than 1,200 students in schools across the city—piloting 8 of the best edtech products in math and literacy – including MIND Research Institute’s ST Math software.

“At LEAP, we’re working to bridge the gap between education and innovation, and math is a core focus for us this year,” said Phyllis Lockett, CEO of LEAP Innovations. “We’re bringing the best adaptive math edtech tools to the classroom to help educators give students the 21st century skills they’ll need to succeed.”

“With help from the right edtech tools and innovative teaching strategies, teachers can personalize learning for students like never before,” said Lockett. “By meeting kids where they are and helping them quickly advance, all students can realize their full potential.”At the core of LEAP’s work is the idea of personalized learning, or learning experiences that are tailored to each student’s needs, strengths, and interests.

A personalized education is not confined to the walls of the classroom, but rather happens anytime, anywhere.

“The Math Fair is a perfect example of the kinds of opportunities we need to get children excited about learning,” said Lockett. “When learning outside the classroom is fun, engaging, and connects to what’s happening inside of school, it helps bring the whole learning experience to life. We can’t wait to bring this exciting event to our city!”

We hope you’ll join us and our partners at LEAP this Saturday at Navy Pier. Learn more about the Math Fair and register here:
